Running and bidding in an auction

When creating a listing, choose the auction option to set a starting price and an end date/time instead of (or alongside) a fixed price. Bids come in from interested buyers, and the highest bid when the auction closes wins.

As a bidder, place a bid from the listing page — you'll be notified if you're outbid so you can decide whether to raise your offer. You can retract a bid before the auction ends if you've made a genuine mistake, but this should be used sparingly and in good faith.

When an auction ends, the seller can mark the item as sold to the winning bidder and arrange payment and collection or delivery directly.
